About Antonella

Hello, my name is Antonella. I was born in the south of Italy, in Naples—also known as the city of the sun. After completing five years of scientific high school, I attended the British School, where I earned a CEFR certificate in ESOL with top marks and honors. I have professional experience in human resources, where I was responsible for managing employee relations and recruitment processes. This role significantly enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills, making me highly effective in engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
As a native Italian tutor, I have been delivering Italian lessons for many years to both native and international students across all proficiency levels. My teaching focuses primarily on grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary development, tailored to meet the individual needs of each learner.

In addition to teaching Italian, I have three years of experience teaching English at a private British institute. I have recently obtained the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge, which enables me to deliver English lessons following the communicative, learner-centered CELTA methodology.

About the lesson

I am a patient, approachable, and professional tutor, committed to creating a calm and stress-free learning environment. My goal is to make each lesson engaging and supportive, ensuring that students feel comfortable and confident as they progress.

I place particular emphasis on developing reading skills, as reading plays a crucial role in improving both pronunciation and overall language proficiency. My lessons are carefully structured to balance practice and theory, and I provide targeted exercises to reinforce what has been covered.

Deadly! I have found Antonella's lessons to be educational and stimulating. As an intermediate learner who is keen to practice speaking, I've had a number of tutors who insist on doing a lot of grammar explanation in English, whereas Antonella keeps her lessons almost exclusively in Italian, which I find much more beneficial. Part of the lesson is 'free conversation', part of the lesson is 'fun stuff' ( such as crosswords, quizzes etc), and the remainder of the lesson is grammar work where we focus on the areas that she can see I need help with, based on what she has seen in the earlier parts of the lesson. This structure, at least for me, is both enjoyable and productive, highly recommend.
