About Angelica

I have degrees in Communications and Art & Culture Management, and I'm currently pursuing certification in Italian teaching.
I have completed training as a teacher of Italian as a foreign language at Taalhuis Amsterdam, and gained some experience as a private teacher and tutor in person as well as online.

I was born in Naples, and then went on to study and work in various Italian cities (including Rome and Turin) before moving to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I've always maintained a strong connection to Italy, cultivating a deep and broad knowledge of the country as well as its language and culture.

I learned Dutch in the Netherlands in my 30s, so I know what it feels like to try to learn a new language as an adult! If the challenge scares you even a little, I understand, and I'll be able to help you overcome the performance anxiety that can come with approaching a beautiful and complex language like Italian.

I've always worked in communications and culture, in roles ranging from brand manager to television editor to creative consultant. Much of my professional life has revolved around languages and writing (especially Italian and English). I've also often mentored younger colleagues, facilitated workshops, and managed projects across teams. I love helping people realize their potential, providing personalized support.

I have a creative and eclectic personality. My interests are varied: books, music, art, cinema, sewing, cooking, nature, plants, yoga, social sciences, board games, and much more. I have dear friends of different nationalities and cultures, scattered around the world, and I'm passionate about intercultural communication. Connecting people and contributing to a sense of community are among the things that bring me the most joy in the world.

About the lesson

I give individual to small-group lessons that are part of a targeted learning plan conceived to help you achieve your specific goals.
I use a communicative approach to language teaching, based on deep cultural awareness and attention to learning styles and individual goals. I combine structure with creativity, incorporating your interests and preferences into our Italian learning practice.
I am experienced in teaching English native speakers, from 20 to 60+ years olds.
I completed my language teacher training at a private language school in Amsterdam, NL.
For the most effective learning, my lessons are 50 to 60 minutes long.
