About Wanjiru

My name is Elsie, I am a native Kikuyu speaker born and raised in Central Kenya. I am passionate about preserving our beautiful Kikuyu language and culture. I am patient, friendly and I love teaching. I have helped many friends and foreigners learn basic Gikuyu for home, marriage and travel. I am also fluent in English and Swahili, so I can explain Kikuyu in a language you understand. My goal is to make you speak confidently with your family and community. Twende tukasome!

About the lesson

Wî mwega! I am a native Kikuyu tutor from Central Kenya. I teach Kikuyu language to foreigners, beginners, kids in diaspora and anyone married to a Kikuyu. My lessons are simple and fun — greetings, daily conversation, proverbs, culture and traditions. I use stories, songs and practical speaking. I teach online on WhatsApp video, Zoom or face to face. Karibu sana, let's learn Gikuyu together!
