About Evie

Hello!
I’m a certified Foreign Language Teacher Administrator and a native Korean speaker. A little bit about my background: I was born and raised in Hongdae, Seoul, an area known for its vibrant arts and international atmosphere. I also lived in London and Ireland, where I had the opportunity to meet and communicate with people from many different backgrounds. I’m fluent in English, so I can comfortably explain Korean in English when needed.

I believe Korean lessons should be personalised to each student, rather than simply following a textbook from beginning to end. I create and provide learning materials based on each student’s level, interests, and learning goals, and I design lessons around what they actually need to improve to achieve their goal.

Whether you want to focus on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, or simply feel more comfortable using Korean in everyday situations, I consider deeply for the each students adjusting the lessons to suit their goals and pace.

I don’t believe in rushing through text book, I’d rather make sure you truly understand, feel confident with what you’re learning, and enjoy learning Korean at your own pace!

About the lesson

I’m a certified Foreign Language Teacher Administrator and a native Korean speaker, born and raised in Seoul.

In our first lesson, we’ll get to know each other, discuss your learning goals, and assess your current Korean level. Based on this, I’ll create a personalised learning plan that suits your goals, interests, and pace.

I provide appropriate resources and learning materials depending on each student’s level and goals. As someone who grew up speaking Korean in Seoul, I can help you develop natural pronunciation and intonation, while my professional training allows me to explain Korean grammar clearly and effectively.

My goal is to help you not only understand Korean, but feel comfortable and confident using it in real life conversations.

I focus on five things :

1. Practical Korean for Real Life We can focus on the Korean you actually want to use from everyday conversations and messaging to travel, work, or communicating with Korean friends.

2. Personalised Materials & Lessons I’ll prepare additional worksheets, exercises, or other materials when I feel they will help you understand and practise something better. If there’s something specific you want to learn, we can build the lesson around it.

3. Learn at Your Own Pace Everyone learns differently. I’ll adjust the pace and difficulty of the lessons based on your progress, rather than rushing through books. I want you to feel confident, get what you actually need for your goal, and taking your time when you need to.

4. Sound More Natural in Korean Beyond textbook Korean, I’ll help you with pronunciation, natural expressions, and the way Korean is actually used in everyday conversations, so you can feel more confident communicating with native speakers.

5. Interest-Based Learning : We'll use content you already enjoy, such as K-dramas, K-pop lyrics, YouTube videos, or Korean cooking recipes, so you can learn language that's relevant to you.
