About Max
I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker born and raised in China, with a deep understanding of the language, culture, and the way Chinese people actually communicate in daily life — not just textbook phrases.
As someone who has also studied English extensively, I understand firsthand how challenging it is to learn a foreign language. This experience makes me a more empathetic and patient tutor. I know where learners struggle, and I know how to explain things clearly.
I am passionate about helping students not just memorize vocabulary, but truly understand and feel comfortable using Mandarin in real situations — whether traveling in China, working with Chinese colleagues, or simply connecting with Chinese friends.
My approach is warm, encouraging, and always adapted to the individual student. I believe every learner is different, and progress happens fastest when lessons feel natural and enjoyable.

I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from China, offering personalized one-on-one Chinese lessons for students of all levels — from complete beginners to advanced learners.
My lessons are tailored to your personal goals. Whether you want to build conversational confidence, prepare for HSK exams, learn Chinese characters, or understand Chinese culture, I will design each lesson around your needs and learning pace.
A typical lesson includes a short review of previous material, new vocabulary and grammar introduction through real-life examples, and plenty of speaking practice. I believe the best way to learn a language is through natural conversation, not just textbooks.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and relaxed. I understand how challenging it can be to learn a tonal language like Mandarin, so I make sure every student feels comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
Lessons are conducted online via video call, making it easy and flexible for students anywhere in the world. I am available for flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle.
