About Yangyang
Hi, I'm Yangyang! I'm a native Mandarin Chinese speaker originally from China, now based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
I hold a Master's degree in Sociology from a top-ranked university in China, and a Putonghua Proficiency Certificate Level 2A — the Chinese government's official standard for qualified Mandarin speakers.
I have several years of experience tutoring students of different ages, from primary school children to university students and working adults. I genuinely enjoy teaching and love seeing students grow in confidence with their Mandarin.
I am patient, warm, and adaptable — I will always tailor my approach to suit your learning style and goals.

I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with a Master's degree and several years of tutoring experience across all age groups and levels.
My lessons are tailored to your goals — whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for NCEA Chinese, or wanting to improve conversation skills. I focus on real-life communication, so you can start using Mandarin confidently from day one.
Lessons are 60 minutes, available in person in Dunedin or online. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping every student make real progress. I also hold a Putonghua Proficiency Certificate Level 2A — the Chinese government's standard for qualified Mandarin speakers.
