About Tina

Hello! I'm a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from China, a PhD holder, and a university lecturer with teaching experience in higher education.

Teaching has always been an important part of my professional life. Through my experience as a university educator, I have developed a strong understanding of how to communicate knowledge clearly, encourage students, and create a positive and supportive learning environment.

I also hold an official Mandarin Proficiency Test Certificate (Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi), demonstrating my proficiency in standard Mandarin pronunciation and spoken Chinese. In addition to Mandarin, I can communicate in English, which helps me explain concepts clearly and support international students who are new to the Chinese language.

I enjoy meeting people from different cultural backgrounds and believe that language learning is not just about words and grammar, but also about understanding different cultures and ways of thinking.

What motivates me most as a teacher is seeing students gradually gain confidence, overcome challenges, and discover the joy of learning something new.

About the lesson

My Mandarin lessons are designed to be practical, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning goals.

As a PhD holder and university lecturer in China, I understand the importance of effective teaching methods and a supportive learning environment. I believe that learning Mandarin should be enjoyable, interactive, and confidence-building rather than simply memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules.

My teaching approach focuses on clear explanations, real-life conversations, pronunciation practice, and active student participation. For beginners, we can start with Pinyin, Mandarin tones, basic vocabulary, and everyday expressions. For students with some Chinese knowledge, lessons can focus on improving speaking fluency, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and communication skills.

Each lesson typically lasts 45 minutes, providing a focused, interactive, and enjoyable learning experience. Lesson schedules can be arranged flexibly based on mutual availability and students' individual learning needs.

**My lessons are suitable for learners of all ages, including children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate learners.** Whether you're learning Mandarin for school, work, travel, everyday communication, or personal interest, I will adapt my teaching methods and materials to suit your age, language level, and learning goals.
