About Ruiyan
Hi, I’m Ruiyan! I come from Guangdong, China. And I’m currently an undergraduate student at USYD, majoring in Criminology and Psychological Science.
Before moving to Australia, I studied German for two years in Chongqing, so I can also communicate in basic German. I’m passionate about exploring cities, watching musicals, and playing The Sims 4 in my free time.

I offer personalized Mandarin lessons specially designed for travelers who are planning to visit China or want to make the most out of their trip.
My classes focus on practical, real-life communication, such as ordering food, asking for directions, shopping, booking hotels, using transportation, and handling everyday travel situations with confidence. Alongside useful vocabulary and essential grammar, I also introduce cultural tips that can help you better understand local customs and avoid those common "lost in translation" moments while traveling.
Each one-hour lesson is interactive and tailored to your needs. As a native speaker with one year of part-time teaching experience at a well-known private tutoring institution in China, I always aim to make my explanations clear, relaxed, and easy to follow, so you can start speaking Mandarin from day one.
