About Katie
Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you. While I haven't taught Mandarin before, I have successfully helped students in Taiwan, whose native language is Mandarin, to become fluent in English. My dedication to teaching and language learning drives me to now offer my expertise in Mandarin.
I am passionate about movies, books, sports, music, art, and animals, which allows me to connect with students on various topics.
I've just completed the IBDP and wish to become a vet in the near future. I am excited to embark on this language journey with you and create a friendly, engaging, and supportive environment where we can explore the beauty of Mandarin together. ABOUT MY LESSONS:
I try to make my Mandarin lessons fun and engaging by incorporating games, songs, stories, and interactive activities. I mainly focus on MANDARIN SPEAKING!! Below are the teaching methodology and content covered:
- Introduce basic Mandarin sounds and tones.
- Practice simple words and phrases.
- Teach everyday vocabulary.
- Encourage conversational practice.
- Learn through play (e.g., memory matching games).
- Incorporate Cultural Elements (teach about food, transportation, and people in Taiwan).
LEVEL:
ANY LEVEL!! No matter if you're a beginner or you already can speak a little of the language and just want to talk to someone in Chinese to improve your speaking or learn more about the culture of Taiwan.
