About Haiyan

Hello! I’m Haiyan, a native Mandarin Chinese teacher from Beijing with over 900 online Chinese lessons taught to students from different countries and backgrounds.

I specialize in **spoken Chinese, HSK preparation, practical Chinese for daily life, and Chinese for work and business.**

I also provide **personalized Chinese tutoring for middle school, high school, and university students**. I use students’ school textbooks, class materials, and homework assignments to help them review vocabulary and grammar, understand difficult topics, prepare for tests, and improve their speaking skills. My lessons are designed to support their school curriculum, strengthen their foundation, and help them become more confident using Chinese.

Before becoming a full-time Chinese teacher, I worked in **international trade, import-export, and purchasing**, so my Business Chinese lessons are based on practical workplace situations rather than textbook language alone.

I graduated from the **Central Academy of Fine Arts** with a degree in Environmental Art Design and have studied Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting since childhood. I enjoy bringing Chinese culture into my lessons when it helps students understand the language more naturally.

I believe Chinese lessons should be **structured, practical, and personalized**. Whether you're a student who needs support with schoolwork, a complete beginner, preparing for HSK, learning Chinese for work, or simply want to communicate more confidently, I will create a learning plan based on your level, goals, and learning needs.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, practical, and personalized according to each student's level, learning goals, and individual needs. I focus on helping students not only understand Chinese but also use it confidently.

**School Chinese Tutoring & Homework Support**

I provide personalized Chinese tutoring for middle school, high school, and university students.

I work with each student's school textbooks, curriculum, class materials, and homework assignments to provide targeted academic support.

My lessons include:
- Reviewing vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structures.
- Explaining difficult topics and helping students understand their assignments.
- Preparing for school tests, quizzes, and assessments.
- Practicing speaking and listening through interactive conversations based on classroom topics.
- Revisiting previously learned material to strengthen memory and build confidence.

I adapt each lesson to the student's current school curriculum and progress, helping them keep up with their classes and become more independent and confident Chinese learners.

**HSK Preparation & Structured Chinese**

I offer systematic Chinese lessons from beginner to advanced HSK levels, covering vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, speaking, and exam preparation.

Lessons combine structured textbook learning with practical exercises and real-life communication.

**Practical & Conversational Chinese**

Learn the Chinese people actually use in everyday life!

Topics include introductions, restaurants, shopping, transportation, travel, social situations, and natural everyday conversations.

Lessons focus on improving speaking confidence, listening comprehension, and the ability to communicate naturally.

**Business Chinese**

Practical Chinese for meetings, purchasing, supplier communication, negotiations, workplace conversations, business travel, and professional situations.

With my previous experience in international trade, import-export, and purchasing, I bring authentic business scenarios into my lessons.

**What You Can Expect**

- Personalized lesson plans based on your goals and level.
- Clear explanations and structured learning materials.
- Interactive speaking practice and regular review.
- A supportive and encouraging learning environment.
- Lessons adapted to your progress and learning needs.

Whether you're looking for support with school Chinese, preparing for HSK, improving everyday communication, or learning Chinese for work, I'll help you make steady progress and use Chinese with greater confidence.
