About Dengke
Hi! I'm dengke, a native Mandarin speaker and an experienced one-on-one online tutor.
I teach Chinese to beginners and HSK learners, and I also tutor American elementary-school math — so I'm very comfortable working with kids as well as adults, and with students starting completely from zero.
What makes my lessons different: I design all of my own bilingual teaching materials, with pinyin above every sentence and English explanations alongside — the same materials I use in my own classroom every day. You won't get lost, even if you've never learned a word of Chinese before.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly interactive. I explain everything in clear, simple English and always adjust the pace to fit you.

Lessons run 30 to 50 minutes, fully customized to your goals and attention span — shorter, focused sessions for kids, fuller sessions for teens and adults:
- Complete beginners: pinyin, tones, basic greetings and everyday conversation — you'll be speaking from day one
- HSK 1–3 learners: structured HSK preparation with vocabulary, grammar, listening practice and mock tests
- Kids: fun, visual lessons with games and bilingual materials designed for young learners
- Conversation practice: real-life topics at your level
Every lesson comes with my custom bilingual notes (Chinese + pinyin + English), so reviewing after class is easy. Lessons are held online via Zoom or Google Meet — all you need is a computer and an internet connection.
