About Jonathan

I am an Ecuadorian travel agent and a former medical student with 10+ years of experience in client services, management, and volunteership. Being a native Spanish speaker, I am passionate about teaching Spanish and have completed a series of courses on Spanish grammar and literature at the university. Since I moved to Montreal, I hold one year of experience in teaching all ages and levels of Spanish.
I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people in both private and group settings with professionals such as lawyers, doctors and engineers who needed to incorporate Spanish in their jobs.

About the lesson

As a teacher, I like to focus on my students' needs because my primary role is to coach and facilitate their learning. I adapt well to my students and I always look for feedback to improve my way of teaching. Generally I like the idea of starting with reading/writing properly and build a strong foundation through exercises. At the same time, we focus on developing listening and speaking skills by having thematic conversations and using proper multimedia files. Depending on the students' needs, we can come up with specialized lesson plans to focus on certain skills as well.

Deadly! Jonathan est un prof super!Il est tout à fait patient et le cours est toujours bien préparé.En plus,il a des méthodologies géniales(P.ex:Il essaie de trouver des définitions de mots que je ne connais pas,même des expressions courantes,ce qui est trop cool!).D’ailleurs,il sourit beaucoup,ce qui me donne plein d’énergie autant du courage de parler.:))

I've been taking Spanish lessons with Jonathan for a couple months now. He's very organized, flexible and knowledgeable. He's helped me gain a solid understanding of the grammar, and we work a lot on pronunciation, reading and writing properly. Lessons are easy to follow and fun! Highly recommend him :)

I've known Jonathan for a year now. I'm taking private Spanish lessons with him and I have to say he's an amazingly patient, creative and energetic teacher. He is very well organized, he pays attention to details and he makes the lessons fun and engaging. We started from zero and he's helped me build a strong foundation while shaping the lessons around my preferences. With Jonathan's methodology, learning is easy yet systematic; exactly what I look for in a teacher. Definitely recommend!
