About Jena
I am a native Spanish speaker. I grew up between Mexico and the US. I have a degree in Spanish and Education as well as a minor in English as a second language. Early in my career I taught at a bilingual elementary school and later taught high schooler and adults English as a Second Language.
I love dogs, coffee and basketball.

I prefer to focus my lessons on areas of interest of my students. We begin every unit with vocabulary and the different form of using those words. They we move into sentence structure, focusing on using the same vocabulary in those structures. After that, we engage in an activity in which the student would need to use the sentence structure and vocabulary they’ve learned in spoken Spanish.
