About Saul
¡Hola! I’m excited to help you improve your Spanish (or Portuguese) skills! I’m a native Spanish speaker who has lived in Wisconsin for 15 years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Communication and a Master’s degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics, both from UW-Milwaukee. I began my teaching journey as a Spanish Teaching Assistant while completing my graduate studies (that's where I took Portuguese courses), and I am currently pursuing my teaching license and a second Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction.
Over the years, I’ve taught a wide range of learners, from elementary students to college-level classes. I worked as a Teaching Assistant in Madrid through UWM’s Study Abroad program, taught Spanish courses on campus for two years, and provided private tutoring for children and adults (including ages 9 and 11). I now teach Spanish at a public high school, where I lead Spanish 2, AP Spanish Language, and AP Spanish Literature courses. I also offer one-on-one support through office hours and enjoy tailoring lessons to each student’s goals and interests.
My teaching style is student-centered, engaging, and flexible. I love incorporating technology and interactive activities, mixing traditional practice with virtual tools and gamified learning to make language acquisition fun and meaningful. Whether you’re just starting out, preparing for an AP exam, or looking to refine your conversational skills, I’m here to help you succeed. ¡Vamos a aprender juntos!

¡Hola!
I am a Native Spanish speaker currently in Milwaukee. I have 5 years of teaching experience along with some tutoring.
I started teaching beginning levels at UW-Milwaukee (taught Spanish 1,2,3, and 4) - Teaching grammar, vocabulary, and Culture.
I am currently working as a High School Spanish Teacher, teaching Spanish 2, AP Spanish Language, and AP Spanish Literature.
As a tutor, I have experience teaching children from a vocabulary perspective, from there building on sentences. I have also done sessions to practice conversation and comprehension.
