About Saira

During my time living in Lahore I did home tutoring to school-age students over two years, in Urdu, English, maths, sciences, history and geography. I have a strong affinity for working with children and I can be productive while communicating on children's wavelength. Following my Bachelor of Business Administration degree (undertaken in Lahore, in English) I worked in Pakistan in a variety of fields including project management, logistics and database control. Accordingly, I am ready to help you with the proper use of Urdu in business interactions. In London I enjoy teaching with all age groups, catering to Urdu GCSE students, younger students learning the basics of Urdu literacy, as well as adults wishing to focus on speaking practice or literature study.

About the lesson

Hi, my name is Zyra. I was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, where I learnt to speak, read and write both Urdu and Punjabi natively. I have a naturally sunny and generous personality and I find joy in helping others to reach their goals, especially in Urdu language learning. Whether I am working with a small child, a teenager or an adult, I firmly believe that each person is different and I tailor lessons to fit the unique needs and interests of my students. To this end, I am constantly creating new teaching resources, both written and oral, to engage students in learning Urdu vocabulary, grammar, and specialised topic areas. I have a strong understanding of the grammatical structures inherent in Urdu, but more importantly, I can break these structures down into manageable teaching steps which are readily accessible to learners of all ages. When it comes to working with children, I understand that the most effective learning happens when they are both fully engaged and having fun, and I embrace many game-like strategies in my teaching with young students. Although I have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration, I also have a love for the written word. While living in Lahore, I worked as a scriptwriter (in Urdu) for Radio Pakistan. I am familiar with the literature of Urdu, both fiction and poetry, and I enjoy using examples from Urdu literature in my teaching with both adults and children.

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Saira Altaf, who has been teaching Urdu to my son for the past 3 months. Saira has been an exceptional teacher, and I am truly grateful for all the hard work and dedication she has put into my son's education.

My son has always struggled with learning languages, but Saira has been able to create a comfortable and supportive environment that has helped him to develop a love for the language. Her teaching methods are creative, engaging, and tailored to my son's learning style, which has helped him to progress rapidly in his studies.

Saira is also incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. She has a wonderful ability to connect with her students and make learning enjoyable, which has had a profound impact on my son's confidence and self-esteem.

I have no doubt that Saira Altaf would be an asset to any educational institution. Her passion for teaching, her deep understanding of the subject matter, and her commitment to her students make her an outstanding educator.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Saira highly enough. She has been an exceptional teacher to my son, and I am confident that she would be an excellent addition to any educational community.
