About Virginia

Hi, I’m Virginia—a Master's-prepared Nurse Educator with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and 16 years as a registered nurse. I hold an MSN in Nursing Leadership, Analytics, and Innovation, along with a Certificate in Nursing Education from the University of Michigan. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. I specialize in simplifying medical math for nursing and allied health students. I understand that medical math can be overwhelming, but I’m here to change that. My calm, supportive approach helps students build both skills and confidence. Whether you’re preparing for the NCLEX, HESI, or brushing up for clinicals, I create a judgment-free space where questions are always welcome, and progress is celebrated. I bring real-world nursing experience into every session, making concepts meaningful and practical. You’ll gain the tools to not only pass exams but to think critically and safely in clinical settings. Professionalism, patience, and passion are at the heart of what I do. About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is student-centered, supportive, and confidence-building. I meet learners where they are and guide them step-by-step through complex concepts, especially in medical math. I use real-world nursing scenarios to make the content relevant and engaging.

My teaching method combines visual aids, repetition, and practice-based learning. I break problems down using dimensional analysis, help students understand why we do the math a certain way, and reinforce skills through guided practice and independent application. I focus not just on the “how,” but also on building critical thinking and test-taking strategies.
