About Paloma

Hi everyone, My name is Paloma, and I'm passionate about teaching English. I've been involved in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) for over 20 years, working as a teacher educator, author, content editor, and e-moderator. I hold an MA in TESOL, a Trinity DipTESOL, and a PgCertTESOL, among other qualifications. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to teach diverse learners in various settings, from universities to refugee camps. I've taught in Mexico, the UK, and several other countries, including Chile, Rwanda, Palestine, and Ethiopia. These experiences have enriched my understanding of different cultures and learning styles, which I bring to my teaching practice. I believe that inspiring is more important than just teaching. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where you feel comfortable practicing your English skills. I'm dedicated to helping you achieve your language learning goals, whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner. I'm excited to embark on this learning journey with you!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is rooted in my extensive experience and qualifications as an English language instructor. I hold an MA in TESOL, a Trinity DipTESOL, and a PgCertTESOL, among other certifications. I have over 20 years of experience teaching English to diverse learners, including both online and face-to-face instruction. In my lessons, I employ a variety of techniques and methodologies to cater to different learning styles and needs. These include interactive activities, communicative tasks, and personalized feedback. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and practicing their English skills. A typical lesson with me lasts for 60 minutes, but this can be adjusted based on the student's needs and goals. I offer lessons for all levels of English learners, from beginners to advanced speakers. I also have experience teaching specific areas such as Business English, Exam Preparation, and CLIL. My lessons are suitable for both teenagers and adults who are looking to improve their English language skills.
