About Nora

What kind of experience do you have? I have a BA in Music Education. I have been teaching 100+ German and Music students in the UK since 2009. I'm a native German speaker. I've worked as a drums/guitar teacher for the Arts Academy ((concealed information) As a performer, I perform in bands, ensembles, plays and TV. Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes. I also have a First Aid Certificate and Paediatric First Aid Certificate. Where and with whom did you train? 2008: Mozarteum Salzburg & Tyrolean Conservatory: B.A. music education-drums and percussion. 2012: Greenwich University-M.A. Filmmaking. 2009: Arts Academy-Fun learning Music. Tell me about some of your current students. -The German lover who wanted to understand Wagner -The PA whose boss needed to move to Germany and subsequently a lot of German forms had to be filled out -The GCSE students who hated learning German but at least had a good time -The A-level students who decided to study German at university -The lawyer who suddenly had to work more in Germany -The German native speaker living in the UK who wanted their children to learn how to write and read in German -The Skype student from Hong Kong who wanted to enter into the English school system -The business woman whose dream was it to work and live in a German speaking country -The designer couple who moved to Berlin -The opera singers who worked on their pronunciation -The TV presenter who needed to interview German sportsmen -The other Skype student who took me to several countries with him-on his laptop.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Nora, a German and Percussion/Drums/Marimba teacher originally from Austria. WHICH SUBJECT(s) DO YOU TEACH? I teach German. Either you are just interested in the language, need German for Business, have to learn it for school (e.g. GCSE, A-levels), visit a German speaking country and want to speak a little bit, want to emigrate, want to learn Standard German (for business, acting,..) or a dialect: I am an experienced and trained teacher who likes to help you with your individual German goals. Ich biete Deutsch Unterricht für deutschsprachige Kinder an, bzw. Musikunterricht auf Deutsch. Dies wird vor allem von Eltern genutzt, die Muttersprachler sind, deren Kinder jedoch in England aufwachsen und wenig auf Deutsch lesen oder schreiben. +Good to know: I am very familiar with the GCSE, AS and A level system. +Good to know: I also offer music lessons in German. +Good to know: Being a musician myself, I also help opera singers with their German pronunciation. After Virus Update: I have been teaching via Skype for more than 10 years now, so I am always happy to teach you on Skype, especially in times like these. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding online tutoring. Otherwise, lessons are either at my place in Greenwich or in a Cafe nearby. I live near Greenwich Park, very close to Lewisham and Blackheath. The nearest rail / DLR stations are: Greenwich, Blackheath and Lewisham. Buses: 53/386/380. There is also a lot of parking space. Or, if you live in Greenwich or Lewisham, it might be possible for me to come to your place. (I might ask for a travel supplement then-depending on the distance-please contact me for further information). I also teach in Canary Wharf. WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE? I'm very flexible, so I'm sure we can arrange the perfect time and day. WHICH AGES AND LEVELS DO YOU TEACH? I teach everyone from 3-100. From beginners to advanced learners. Nora has been teaching me and my daughter German for nearly two years. My daughter wanted to study for a German GCSE independently because it was not offered by her school. She has made amazing progress with Nora - I'm impressed with how much she can now read and understand. I'm enjoying my lessons and my confidence has improved hugely. Nora is great at tailoring the lessons to what I need, whether that is grammar or conversation.

I asked him what he likes about the lessons and he said "everything!" She also teaches my youngest son (7) guitar.
