About Dan
I've been a professional writer/director for thirty years. I've had a hit play, several series on BBC Radio, a published novel, and am currently directing a feature film that I wrote.

Writing anything creative is a psychological struggle, and I specialise in very specific practical techniques to get you writing effectively (and immediately).
I teach things like: how to generate ideas, how to overcome writer's block, narrative drive, structure, dialogue, and so on.
The emphasis is strongly on getting you writing quickly, then analysing and improving your work.
Whether it's a novel, radio script, short story, screenplay, stage play or article, I can help. Everyone has different needs, and I analyse and adapt lessons accordingly.
