About Maya

Hi! My name is Maya. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce as a Dalyell Scholar at the University of Sydney. In November 2023 I completed the IBDP with a 7/7 in HL Economics, having achieved 7/7 in Paper 1, 2 and 3. I also achieved the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) Scholarship in Economics, an additional advanced subject test that 69 students in NZ were awarded.

I love tutoring as it enables me to share my love for Economics and Business whilst assisting students in achieving their potential. I am happy to tutor HL/SL Economics and any High School Business and Economics subjects.

I have collated resources and notes throughout my IBDP that I will readily share with my students to flesh out their existing notes. Having recently completed the IBDP I feel confident in my ability to assist fellow students.

About the lesson

Calm and motivated, I will tailor each session to fit your unique learning style. Whether I assist you with past papers, review essays, or help develop your study habits, I will help you maximize your IBDP score. Employing interactive methods, I foster engagement and critical thinking. Lessons typically run 60 minutes, balancing depth with digestibility.

I have tutored Economics, English, and History for over two years at multiple-year levels, including Years 9, 10, and College. I combine my passion for these subjects with my experience to empower students to excel academically and beyond. My tutoring experience complements my recent graduation from the IBDP, which will allow me to deliver relevant tips and exam strategies.

My focus for each session stems from the need to build a strong foundation from the bottom up. This enables students to grasp more complex topics with ease. For students who already have a solid understanding of foundational concepts, I will work to identify gaps in their knowledge.
