About Colleen

Nursing is not a subject you can fake your way through, and neither is teaching it. Students deserve a tutor who has actually done the work.
I am Colleen Moore, a registered nurse with two master's degrees and more than 30 years of experience across clinical practice, nursing education, and health coaching. I spent years as a nursing professor, which means I understand both the content and how to teach it in a way that actually lands.
I have worked in nearly every area nursing has to offer. That breadth of experience means I can meet you wherever you are in your program and help you connect the material to real clinical thinking, which is exactly what gets you through the NCLEX and into practice as a confident nurse.
My students are not just looking for someone to review notes with. They are looking for someone who can explain why, not just what, and who can help them build the kind of critical thinking that nursing demands. That is what I bring to every session.
I hold myself to a high professional standard in everything I do. Sessions are structured, focused, and tailored to your specific needs. You will leave each one clearer, more confident, and better prepared than when you arrived.
If you are a nursing student who is struggling, stuck, or simply wants to perform at a higher level, I would be glad to work with you.

My Teaching Approach
I am a registered nurse with two master's degrees and over 30 years of clinical and academic experience, including years as a nursing professor. I have taught at the bedside, in the classroom, and everywhere in between. I know where nursing students struggle because I have watched thousands of them struggle there, and I know how to get them unstuck.
My approach is direct and practical. I do not just help you memorize content. I help you think like a nurse, which is exactly what the NCLEX is testing. We work through the reasoning behind the answer, not just the answer itself.
A Typical Lesson
We start by identifying where you are losing points or losing confidence. From there, I build the session around your specific gaps, whether that is pharmacology, prioritization, med-surg, or test-taking strategy. I use real clinical scenarios to make the content stick, and I check your understanding before we move on. Nothing gets glossed over.
What Sets Me Apart
I am not a tutor who studied nursing. I am a nurse who has done almost every role the profession offers, including teaching it at the university level. I have also been a patient. That experience gives me a perspective on health and the human side of nursing that no textbook covers, and it comes through in how I teach.
Who This Is For
These sessions are for nursing students at any stage, pre-licensure students working through their coursework, and graduates preparing to sit for the NCLEX. If you are overwhelmed, behind, or just not clicking with how the material is being taught, this is for you.
