About Olivia

My name is Olivia and I am a New York City–based academic English tutor specializing in reading comprehension, essay writing, and literary analysis for K–12 students.

For over six years, I have worked closely with students to develop strong, confident writers and critical thinkers. My approach goes beyond simply completing HW assignments—I focus on helping students build a deeper understanding of language, structure their ideas with clarity, and engage thoughtfully with complex texts.

I have extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, allowing me to meet each student where they are and help them progress with confidence. My goal is to help students not only succeed academically, but develop a lasting command of language that carries throughout their education.

I am TESOL Certified and hold a Masters Degree from New York University.

About the lesson

Each lesson is designed to strengthen a student’s ability to read, write, and think with clarity and confidence.

In conjunction with homework help, sessions focus on developing a deeper understanding of language—how to structure ideas effectively, engage with complex texts, and express thoughts in a clear, compelling way. Students build skills in essay writing, literary analysis, reading comprehension, and vocabulary, all within a supportive, tailored environment.

Lessons are adapted to each student’s needs and learning style, whether the goal is refining writing technique, improving analytical thinking, or building overall academic confidence. With experience working across a wide range of learners, including those with diverse learning needs, sessions are designed to meet students where they are and help them make meaningful progress.

The goal is not only stronger academic performance, but a lasting command of language that supports long-term success.
