About Hannah
Hello! I’m Hannah and I am a 30-year-old teacher in New York City. I am New York State Certified in childhood education (grades 1-6) and childhood special education (grades 1-6.) This fall I am entering my 8th year in the classroom, I have experience teaching 5th grade social studies, 5th grade ELA, 6th grade social studies, beginning readers, students with special education needs and more. In addition to my classroom experience, I have 3 years of experience running a special education program. I am extremely familiar with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, response to intervention, and providing scaffolds and differentiation to help support all student learning needs.
I can provide homework help, test prep, special education supports, and general subject tutoring in the humanities. I am also a huge fan of project-based learning and designing interactive learning activities for students. I am available for in-person sessions in the New York City Area and on Zoom. The first session is free to see if I am a good fit to help your student meet their learning needs, after that session rates start at $100 an hour.
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Public Policy and Administration from James Madison University and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Childhood Education and Special Education from New York University. I currently work as a 10/11s Head Teacher at the Bank Street School for Children on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
