About Gudrun
I am a year 12 student preparing for conservatorium auditions for 2020. I’ve recently passed my grade 8 AMEB exam, and am a student in the ANU H-Course Music extension program. I have good music theory knowledge- approx. grade 4-5, and am a member of the Canberra Youth Orchestra. I’ve also played with the Canberra Wind Symphony, and been shortlisted as a reserve with the Australian Youth Orchestra’s programs. I have teaching experience with beginner- intermediate players and a broad understanding of teaching methods, as well as knowledge of the Alexander technique. Above all, I am passionate about music and the oboe, and love to teach and share the joys of music.

I approach teaching with an understanding of the fundamental skills and technique needed to play the oboe, but also with the belief of the importance of feeling joy and effortlessness while playing. I try to teach in a way that supports learning the mechanics behind playing the instrument, all the while encouraging and furthering a passion and love for music and the oboe.
