About Aman

I am a current A Level Politics student and hold an offer to Study International Relations (IR) at Cardiff University.

COVID has impacted education in so many ways. I aim to help students fill any knowledge gaps and boost their confidence in Politics in every session. It can be difficult to ask questions in class, especially in large classes where the pace of lessons is quick to ensure all content is covered. As an introvert, I am more than experienced in this feeling and encourage students to ask as many questions as they want.

As someone who has mild ADHD, I also know how learning differences make exams and exam technique difficult, especially in essay subjects like Politics. I am more than happy to accommodate for those with learning difficulties and will of course adapt my teaching style in accordance with students. I can also offer tips and tricks for essay technique and time management.

About the lesson

Politics is a subject that requires you to evaluate complex arguments and portray them in a 'simple' and balanced 'way'. Whilst undertaking my Politics A Level, I have found that though understanding the content is not an issue, being able to evaluate it and get high marks in essays is particularly difficult.

I use a proactive style of teaching, specific to each student, to aid them in getting better at Politics. Whether that's content or essay writing.

I am very happy to tutor for exams or to assist someone in their general political knowledge for non-academic purposes. I am doing the Edexcel A Level politics course and have a special interest in international warfare and counter-insurgency/terrorism.

A large part of politics is challenging each other's views and being able to reinforce your beliefs. In my sessions, I encourage my students to ask questions and challenge my stances. It's one of the best ways to learn. I'm not one of those 'this is the only correct answer' people!
