About Elise
Hi! I’m Elise— it’s so nice to meet you. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in English in 2023, and I’ve been passionate about helping students find confidence in their writing ever since. As someone who has struggled with academic pressure and perfectionism myself, I understand how overwhelming writing can feel. That’s why I approach every session with empathy, patience, and encouragement. I believe students thrive when they feel supported, so I work to create a calm, collaborative environment where learning feels approachable and meaningful. Whether we’re brainstorming poetry or tackling grammar, I aim to help each student feel more confident in their voice, their ideas, and their ability to express themselves clearly. My approach to tutoring is gentle, personal, and focused on building trust. I specialize in high school English, creative writing, and college application preparation, including personal statements.
I have a background in guiding and teaching neurodiverse students as well as creative writing experience, which has led me to tailor my teaching style to adapt to each individual (emotionally and academically).
