About Heruo

Hello! This is Heruo and feel free to call me Hazel. I'm a native Chinese speaker and a student of the University of Auckland. I love sharing the beauty of the Chinese language and culture. My teaching focuses on practical conversational skills, making learning enjoyable and relevant to your interests.

The lessons are designed for individuals with a basic foundation in Chinese. This means they already have some knowledge of the language and are looking to improve their conversational skills and cultural understanding.

The lessons are suitable for all ages, making them accessible to anyone interested in improving their Chinese language skills and understanding of Chinese culture.

Interactive and Engaging Lessons:
I emphasize interaction by using role-plays, dialogues, and real-life scenarios to make learning practical and engaging. This method helps students practice conversational skills and gain confidence in using Chinese in everyday situations.

Personalized Learning:
I tailor lessons to each student’s interests and goals, whether they want to learn about Chinese culture, travel destinations, or cuisine. This approach keeps students motivated and makes learning more relevant and enjoyable.

Balanced Focus on Language Skills:
I focus on developing all language skills including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. However, given the emphasis on conversational skills, I particularly prioritize speaking and listening.

Use of Multimedia Resources:
I incorporate videos, songs, and articles to provide a diverse and rich learning experience. These resources help students get familiar with various aspects of Chinese culture and everyday life.
