About Lucy
I have a First Class Psychology Degree from the University of St Andrews. As part of my degree, I studied mathematics for two years and statistics in my third year. I also have a Masters in Business Psychology with Intercultural Communication from Heriot Watt University.
The statistical side of Psychology is challenging for many students. However, having studied a good deal of maths makes me well qualified to tackle the mysteries of t-tests and ANOVAs. With plenty support and a dash of creativity, I believe that every student can learn to understand and use statistics confidently.
I have a wide range of teaching experience in addition to tutoring for the past 2 years: providing one-to-one maths support to teenagers with additional needs at my secondary school; teaching drama to hearing students at my university and deaf students in Mexico.

If studying is stressful for you then I would love to help. I am an empathetic, patient tutor who is passionate about Psychology. I can help you to achieve your best in exams and, more importantly, to enjoy exploring the fascinating and diverse world of Psychology.
For A-level and Higher Psychology:
I have several years experience teaching A-level and Higher Psychology to a range of students with differing needs, using course notes and lesson plans that I have developed for each of the topics specified by the SQA, AQA, Edexcel and WJEC.
For University Students:
I specialise in supporting students with essay planning, critical evaluation and proofreading for lab reports, essays and dissertations. I also help students navigate research methods and statistics (particularly ANOVAs).
As a psychologist, I am skilled at understanding how different people think and how they learn most effectively. During tutoring sessions, I can help you discover and make use of your strengths, as well as overcoming your weaknesses.
In addition to tutoring students on subjects directly relating to their course, I also give my students the option of learning how to study more efficiently. Excellent psychological research has been done into topics like procrastination, stress and concentration. By teaching my students science-based study tips, they can raise their game in every subject, not just psychology.
