About Abigail
I fell in love with French Studies after completing my GCSE in the language. I achieved an A* in my French A-Level and in October will begin my undergraduate studies in French and History at the University of Cambridge.
I endeavour to make language learning fun and engaging by ensuring students' own ideas and needs shape my delivery of lessons. I also seek to be comprehensive; covering the requirements of the exam board and developing a range of linguistic skills are key to success at GCSE level.
I have gained so much by studying French and through supporting students in their GCSE I hope that they too will benefit from all the advantages that studying a language brings.

Lessons will typically last 1 hour and will be tailored to each student's particular needs. There will be extensive focus on getting to grips with French grammar and an emphasis on vocabulary learning - both of which are key to success at GCSE level. The various skills that are examined at GCSE (reading, listening, reading, writing) will be developed and the demands of each student's exam board will be taken into account.
I have a great deal of experience as an Academic Mentor; at my school I supported students with French GCSE via regular one-on-one sessions. I am passionate about working with students and incorporating their learning styles and strategies to help them achieve their potential.
