About Elysia

I am an artist, writer and passionate English student and teacher. I am experienced tutoring A-Level and GCSE students, with access to excellent resources and a high success rate for university entrance and exam results. I can tailor resources and lessons to individual needs and wants and have experience creating unique revision plans and resources, from exam prep, to simply increasing reading comprehension skills! I have previously worked with a tutoring organisation, as well as done significant freelance tutoring. I am experienced with both ESL and native English speaking students!

About the lesson

I am experienced tutoring for most exam boards and qualifications, including Edexcel, AQA, CIE, and IB. My teaching method is largely discussion based work, with a drive to find ways of engaging with new literature that inspire and intrigue my individual students. I am highly adaptable to the individual needs with a focus on tailoring for exams and personal goals. I base my learning off of the tutorial style we have at Oxford. If it is within your time availability I encourage written work to be submitted to be discussed, and also encourage a joint creation of key resources for revision and exams. I am able to do introductory and up to advanced tutoring, from reading comprehension and experiencing new texts, to essay writing and exam skills—through individually tailored methods. I offer a £5 reduction for online classes!

Elysia tutored me over the progression of my English GCSE coursework (year 10), and I felt thoroughly supported throughout all of our sessions. At no point did she try and do the work for me, she simply pushed me further to see what I could accomplish when I looked at the work in a different way, showing me different techniques and methods to improve.
