I have known Sam for about 7 years now, first having met him when I interviewed him for his BA in Chinese at Oxford. He demonstrated himself in interview to be an exceptional person head and shoulders above many other applicants.
This initial judgement was borne out to be accurate during his tenure on the course where he performed at the level of a first over the course and received that mark in his finals.
