About Violet
Having graduated from the University of Oxford last year studying Law, I still carry a great passion for History, having studied the subject up to A-Level (and EPQ). Within my law course we studied Roman Law, which allowed me to carry this interest even further, gaining an even wider understanding of how history has shaped the society we currently live in, and why it’s so important to be able to dissect in order to be a conscientious student. I have tutored both freelance and for professional agencies for 3 years now and I foster an approachable and flexible environment for my students.

History was always one of my favourite subjects in school thanks to the storytelling that lies at the heart of the subject. However, teaching and learning History at GCSE & A-Level has equipped me with analytical and critical thinking skills that have formed the basis of my education as a future lawyer! I like to combine the “interesting” story aspects of the subject with the contextual and social issues that enshrine an event within its historical significance, to make the learning process as engaging as possible. I also love to connect with students and tailor my lessons to their needs and learning styles.
