About Cheryl
I'm a recent Law graduate from Oxford University and passed the C1 Advanced (CAE) exams with Grade A, with a perfect score for the Use of English, Writing, and Speaking components (210/210) in 2016. I have also passed CAIE A Level English Literature with an A*, and 95/100 at AS Level. Hence, I have extensive experience in the use of English both from the perspectives of academic writing and ESOL exam preparation.
I have some teaching experience from working at Kumon and from volunteering at a children's home in secondary school. I thoroughly enjoyed preparing for my CEFR exams and English/ Literature classes at school, and hope to bring some of that excitement to you in whatever you're preparing for!

English is and can be a very fun subject, and the best way to go about it is to teach it through a subject matter you find interesting. Brushing up on comprehension, writing, or speaking skills when it is based on a particular topic that you're naturally inclined towards definitely boosts retention and progress. Thus, I'd look forward to learning more about you and your interests to better tailor our lessons to you!
The exact structure of our lessons will depend on the particular skills/ exam components you are looking to brush up. As far as reasonably possible, I would like to ensure you get plenty of experience working under exam conditions (e.g. completing timed assessments) and will gear my feedback around the specific marking criteria of the examinations you are sitting.
