About Michael
I have a deep and keen interest in all things mathematical and philosophical, taking my four A-levels in maths, further maths, physics and philosophy into an MMathPhil at the University of Oxford.
I love to inspire interest in these subjects which have been my passion for so long. Philosophy is a wonderful subject that may have a reputation of being detached from real life and lacking in practical applications, but whether you enjoy the subject for its own sake or understand the tools it provides to think critically, then taking up lessons is an excellent step.
I have a friendly, personable demeanour and I see lessons as a two-way street; expect me to bring complete focus and thorough preparation to every lesson.
My particular interests lie in the overlap and interaction between mathematics and philosophy, including logic, philosophical logic, and the philosophy of mathematics, but if you have a thinker or topic you would like to learn more about, do get in touch.
If this sounds interesting to you, I would love to hear from you!

I prefer lessons to be interactive discussions where we share thoughts and intuitions about the material. The summer holidays is a great time for year 11s to think about their next steps going into sixth form, and for first year sixth-formers to think about university.
I can be flexible with lesson timings, fitting them around your schedule and providing the appropriate length to meet your needs.
I am used to tutorial-style teaching from my experiences at Oxford and thrive in a one- or two-to-one teaching environment, galvanised by some more recent classroom experience.
I can tutor GCSE-aged students through to A-level.
