Holly is a respected tutor in our community. She is highly recommended for her commitment and the quality of her lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Holly
I have experience tutoring for GCSE, Common Entrance and school entrance exams and interviews, as well as general help with schoolwork and revision. All the children I have tutored for entrance exams have successful gained a place at one of their chosen schools, some with scholarships.
In addition to individual tutoring sessions, I have varied experiences which have given me the opportunity to work with children with a wide range of interests, abilities and learning styles.I previously volunteered at a local primary school teaching Latin to Year 5 children. I have also spent three years in the air cadets, where I held a senior role mentoring younger cadets and teaching them practical skills as well as theoretical subjects related to aeronautics.

I have experience in a wide range of humanities subjects (English and History A-level, and taking modules in history, politics, philosophy and sociology at university) and can tailor my lessons towards a specific subject, or towards more general skills which are useful across subjects, such as essay structure and exam technique.

To be a good tutor it is not enough to know your subject ( which Holly does). You need also to have the human qualities to engage with the person you are tutoring, to be sympathetic towards the person you are tutoring, to understand the things he or she may have difficulty understanding and to find a way of explaining the subject under discussion. Holly has these human qualities and so is well suited to be an effective and engaging tutor.
I've seen Holly's work at first hand because she has helped our son with his GCSE Maths. She is conscientious and calm, and has really engaged with him and helped him to understand and improve his Maths. I've also seen the materials and work she does for students in other subjects such as English, Science and Geography, at various different academic levels. Through her voluntary work and tutoring she has a good experience of students from a range of backgrounds and schools.
