About Lindsay

Salutations

My name is Lindsay and I am currently a university student studying both Political Science and Biomedical Science. I have an invested interest in Medical Diplomacy and International Relations and am currently studying for the MCAT to apply to Medical School. I am academically driven and believe in a foundational understanding of knowledge. I love to teach and I believe teaching the next generation of students is a privilege.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is student centered and adaptive.

I prioritize clarity and confidence in the students understanding of the subject at hand rather than just memorization.

I currently work as a substitute teacher and have experience breaking down complex subjects into manageable content. I have been trained to look at history from all perspectives and am currently a university student studying Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations and Medical Diplomacy and Biomedical Science with an emphasis on Epidemiology.

I create a low pressure and supportive environment where students can feel comfortable asking questions. I really want them to understand the basics so future lessons can be better understood.

Typical Lesson Plan
Check-in & goal setting (5 minutes)
Review upcoming assignments, exams, or areas where clarification may be needed.
Targeted instruction (15–25 minutes)
Teach or review core concepts using diverse explanations and easy to understand examples.
Guided practice (15–25 minutes)
Work through problems, questions, or prompts together, emphasizing reasoning and strategy.
Independent attempt & feedback (10 minutes)
Student applies the concept independently while I provide targeted feedback.
Wrap-up & next steps (5 minutes)
Summary of the provided lesson and outline what to review before the next session.

I am highly organized and value preparation - I prefer the opportunity to review the material in advance so sessions can be utilized efficiently and focused on the students immediate needs. If the student has specific questions, it would also help to receive these in advance. (Sometimes I find students tend to shy away from asking questions in person)

I can teach middle school through undergraduate students. Students preparing for exams, quizzes, papers or finals. I am happy to adapt lessons to meet student specific needs.
