About Ksenia
I’m a final-year student at the University of Toronto with extensive experience teaching English and French to students of all ages, including those in French Immersion and Extended French programs. I have successfully prepared students for language proficiency exams such as IELTS, DELF, DELF-Prim, TEF, and I hold a TESOL certification to teach English as a second language.
With years of teaching in both private and public schools, language centers like Oxford Learning and NeoBright Tutoring, and online settings, I’ve developed an approach that is interactive, patient, and adaptable to the needs of each student. My lessons focus on building confidence through speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises, using real-life scenarios, visual aids, and engaging activities.
I provide:
- Targeted preparation for IELTS, DELF, TEF, and other language exams
- Support for French Immersion, IB French and Extended French students to improve their academic performance
- One-on-one and group lessons tailored to each student's goals
In addition to tutoring, I run a teaching blog where I share resources, tips, and creative lesson ideas for students and educators.

As a tutor, my approach is centered around creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that adapts to each student’s individual needs. I believe in combining visual aids, interactive activities, and encouraging open discussions to make lessons enjoyable and effective. By incorporating songs, storytelling, and real-life scenarios, I help students connect with the material in a meaningful way.
A typical lesson starts with a review of previous material to reinforce learning, followed by the introduction of new concepts using hands-on activities or visual aids. For language lessons, I prioritize speaking and listening practice, as I believe communication is key to mastering a new language. I incorporate games, role-play, and multimedia resources to keep lessons dynamic and engaging. The session usually ends with a reflective exercise or short assignment to ensure the student retains the material.
What sets me apart is my personalized teaching method, inspired by my own journey of learning English as a second language. I know firsthand the challenges students face, and I strive to create a compassionate and patient learning space. Additionally, being fluent in French and English allows me to switch between languages to aid understanding, which is particularly helpful for beginners or bilingual students.
My lessons are designed for elementary to high school students who want to improve their English or French skills, whether for academic purposes, test preparation, or general language development.
