About the lesson

- Online or in Riverside -

I teach beginner and intermediate chess to students of ages 5-105 with a structured syllabus that I tailor to your strengths and weaknesses. Meetings start with a fun activity followed by a lesson on a specific topic, then we'll play a game and analyze it together afterwards. You can also send me other games to analyze during the lesson, or pick your own topics like how to play a certain opening. I encourage everyone to do puzzles daily, and look at the game review for your games.

Deadly! Sean is a gifted teacher to young and old alike. I am a 73 year-old grandfather. Trial lawyer by occupation. Very active person in my career and family life. I have a loving six-year-old grandson , as all grandfathers would say, he is quite bright. We stared taking chess lessons with Sean about two months ago. It has been a wonderful experience. Of special note is that Sean is extremely patient and nimble when it comes to dealing with a very active and precocious little boy. I have no hesitancy to give Sean the highest possible rating. He’s been a wonderful addition to the development of my precious little boy and his grandfather. 5+ stars for sure!
