About Maggie

I typically offer 1 hour long lessons once a week but am happy to be flexible.
I have extensive experience tutoring Classics and its related subjects both online and in person. I have taught full-time at secondary level, led undergraduate classes, and tutored privately both school-aged students and adult learners.
I aim to make topics seem as accessible and fun as possible. I enjoy building a rapport with a student and adapting each lesson to both their needs and interests. Through varied exercises and regular consolidation combined with an emphasis on exam technique, my intention is for an individual to fully realise their potential. Another major objective is to highlight how subject learning can also support broadly applicable skills such as critical thinking and communication.
At the beginning of each class, I briefly recap previously addressed topics before making the focus of the current class clear and proceeding with suitable exercises. I am also flexible and always receptive to what the student needs and more than happy to work alongside their schoolwork to help support their learning and understanding.
