About Hannah

Hello! My name is Hannah Simpson, and I am an educator with a deep passion for both learning and building meaningful connections. One of my guiding principles comes from Teddy Roosevelt, who said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I carry this philosophy into every lesson, prioritizing care and connection alongside academic growth. I believe humor is one of the best ways to build rapport, and I strive to make learning both enjoyable and enriching for every student.

I have experience teaching all ages from 3-85. I taught high school and adults language learners in Minnesota. I lived and taught in China so I understand first hand what it feels like to be a fish out of water and navigating a new culture and language.

About the lesson

I believe learning should be engaging, relatable, and enjoyable. I focus on building strong relationships with my students, because trust and connection are the foundation for meaningful learning. My lessons typically start with a quick review of prior material to reinforce understanding and address any questions. I often integrate movement-based activities, such as “walk and talks” or gallery walks, to keep students energized and focused. To wrap up, I use exit tickets as a quick check-in to identify areas that may need extra attention in the next lesson.
