About Huong

My name is Hương. I was born and raised in Hue City, though I’m currently living in the south of Vietnam.

️ Currently, I teach students aged 15 and above. I'm focusing on developing more specialized skills for teaching younger children, so I'm not accepting students under 15 at the moment. Thank you for your understanding!

I teach both Southern and Hue accents, but my lessons cover all regional dialects, so you can understand any Vietnamese accent.

I’ve been teaching Vietnamese to students from all around the world and have helped many foreigners, especially expats. Beyond being a tutor, I am a fun and engaging friend, sharing the rich culture, cuisine, and history that make the Vietnamese language truly special.

In addition to teaching, I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, and learning new languages. Right now, I’m studying French and Chinese. As a language learner myself, I fully understand the challenges of remembering new words, holding conversations, and speaking with confidence.

About the lesson

As for my lessons, I tailor them to meet the individual goals of each student. I use effective methods to help you master pronunciation, tones, and basic vocabulary, building your confidence to speak from day one and progress to more advanced conversations as you go.

️ Whether you're a teenager or adult, I use engaging materials such as PPTs, PDFs, and audio to make learning fun and effective. In each class, over 60% of the time is dedicated to speaking, with a strong focus on improving your communication skills through practice and roleplay. This approach has helped me successfully tutor many expats here in Vietnam, and I’m proud of this work. You could be the next student I help master Vietnamese.

Deadly! I just had my first session with Huong, and it went really well! She is patient, friendly, and made me feel comfortable right away. The lesson was well-organized and easy to follow… we focused on pronunciation, basic greetings, and tones, and she explained everything clearly. I appreciated how she encouraged me to speak and corrected my mistakes gently. I already feel more confident and motivated to keep learning Vietnamese in Hue accent. I’m really looking forward to our next session!

Huong is a very resourceful and dynamic teacher, she has all the tools to teach foreigners in a very efficient way.
Learning Vietnamese can be quite challenging, especially when it comes to the tones, but Huong's training is solid and it shows. Her teaching techniques will help you learn Vietnamese faster than you would expect. Her lesson plans are very clear and the progression between different classes are logical. She is also a good listener so she can help you work on your weaknesses. Also very helpful is the fact that her English is excellent. Therefore, I'm not afraid to ask any questions. There are no misunderstandings or communication barriers during the class, so the lessons go smoothly.
All these skills combined with her high energy makes for a very pleasant and productive experience.
If you want to start learning Vietnamese and greatly limit your chances of giving up, she's the one !

Learning Vietnamese with Huong has been so much fun! She's always so patient with me. She makes sure I understand everything from the start. After taking class 2 times per week for the last 2 months, I am able to pronounce the tones correctly and hold a simple conversation in daily life already with my Vietnamese wife.
