About Kaylee

I’ve been passionate about cooking and baking for over 15 years, beginning when I was 14. What started as a hobby has grown into something I’ve continued to enjoy and develop over the years. I also spent three years working at a pizza restaurant, where I gained hands-on experience in a professional food-service environment and developed an even stronger appreciation for making pizza.

Through years of hands-on experience in my own kitchen, along with my experience working in a pizza restaurant, I’ve learned how to follow recipes, understand cooking and baking techniques, troubleshoot common mistakes, and make adjustments when things don’t go as planned.

I believe great teaching starts with patience, clear communication, and making people feel comfortable asking questions. I take the time to prepare for each lesson and review specific recipes beforehand so I can make sure I’m able to teach them confidently and effectively.

Whether you're completely new to cooking and baking or simply want to improve your skills, my goal is to create a friendly and encouraging learning experience where you can build confidence in the kitchen. I’m committed to being honest about what I know and helping each student get the most out of their lesson.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is relaxed, patient, and hands-on. I believe the best way to learn cooking and baking is by actually doing it, so my lessons are designed to have you cooking or baking along with me from your own kitchen. I’ll guide you through each step, explain techniques in an easy-to-understand way, and share tips I’ve learned through years of cooking and baking at home.

A typical lesson starts by going over the recipe and ingredients so you know what to expect. From there, we’ll work through the recipe step by step together. I’ll explain not only what to do, but why each step matters, and I’ll help you troubleshoot along the way if something doesn’t look or feel right.

I also understand that not every recipe can be completed in a single lesson. Some breads and other baked goods require several hours of rising, extended fermentation, overnight refrigeration, or multiple days of preparation. Depending on the recipe, we may work through it over multiple sessions, with me explaining what to do after/ between lessons so you can continue confidently on your own.

What sets me apart is that I want my lessons to feel comfortable and approachable rather than intimidating, like calling a friend. I’m happy to slow down, answer questions, and explain things as many times as needed. I also understand that everyone has different tastes and experience levels, so I try to make each lesson fit the person I’m teaching.

My lessons are best suited for beginners, home cooks, and anyone who wants to become more comfortable in the kitchen. I especially enjoy teaching homemade breads of all kinds, pizza and pizza related things, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and other baked treats. If you have a specific recipe in mind, you’re welcome to send it to me beforehand so I can make sure it’s something I’m comfortable teaching.
