About Emily
I am a piano tutor with 14 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Collaborative Piano. My teaching approach centers on developing critical thinking and musicality in every student. I believe that learning piano goes beyond just playing notes—it’s about understanding music deeply and expressing yourself fully. I emphasize individualized learning, tailoring lessons to fit each student’s strengths and goals. My method includes a holistic blend of music theory, ear training, history, and technique. This well-rounded approach helps students build a strong foundation while staying inspired. I have guided students from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, as well as those pursuing Professional and Expert skills. My focus is on nurturing confident, creative musicians who think independently and play with passion. Each lesson is designed to challenge and support students, encouraging steady progress and musical exploration. I am dedicated to helping you unlock your potential and enjoy every step of your journey. My teaching approach focuses on building strong musicality and confidence in every student. I believe that learning piano should be both structured and fun. Lessons are designed to suit each student’s unique goals and interests.
I emphasize developing a good sense of rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing to help students express themselves through music. I encourage exploring different genres, from classical to jazz, pop, and soul, to keep lessons fresh and inspiring. Flexibility in style allows students to find their own voice at the piano.
I support students who enjoy composing their own music as well as those who use piano for relaxation and personal growth. Together, we work on steady progress with clear, achievable steps. I provide exercises that develop technique alongside creative exploration.
My goal is to create a safe space where students feel confident to experiment and grow. I guide them gently, helping them overcome challenges without pressure. Whether you want to perform, compose, or simply enjoy playing, I tailor lessons just for you.
Through patience and encouragement, I help students develop a lasting passion for the piano. Every lesson is a step toward becoming a more skilled and expressive musician.
