About Thobile
Hello My name is Thobile Gumede, and I am a Master’s student in Public Health with an Honors degree in Psychology. I currently work as a Prevention Coordinator in the HIV/AIDS sector, where I focus on promoting health, preventing the spread of HIV, and improving mental health and well-being. This professional experience allows me to bring valuable, real-world insights into our lessons, making the material more practical and relevant to today’s public health challenges. My goal is not only to help you understand complex topics but also to boost your confidence in applying what you’ve learned. As an enthusiastic master’s student in Public Health and with an Honours degree in Psychology, my approach to tutoring is centered around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts while also promoting critical thinking and practical application. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered.
I adapt my lessons based on the student’s individual learning style, whether they prefer visual aids, discussions, or practical exercise. I aim to make complex public health and psychology concepts accessible and relevant to real-life situations.
I teach in English and isiZulu.
Each lesson begins with a brief discussion on the topic at hand to gauge what the student already knows and clarify any misconceptions. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically, using real-life examples to make the material more relatable. At the end of each session, we review key points, and I provide practice questions or mini-assessments to reinforce the lesson.
Target students:
