About Camila

Learning a new language can feel challenging, but with the right guidance, it becomes exciting and rewarding. As a dedicated and patient Spanish tutor, I take pride in helping each student feel confident and supported every step of the way. I have strong experience working with learners of different levels and backgrounds as a Spanish tutor at Sewanee University, and I always tailor my lessons to meet individual goals—whether that’s improving grades, mastering conversation, or preparing for exams. I approach teaching with professionalism, organization, and care. My lessons are well-prepared, my communication is clear, and I value consistency and respect in every session. My goal is to help students not only understand Spanish but also enjoy learning it.

About the lesson

As a Spanish tutor, I focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident using the language in real-life contexts. My teaching method combines conversation-based practice with structured lessons on vocabulary and pronunciation. I incorporate cultural insights—such as music, films, and traditions—to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material, followed by interactive speaking or listening exercises tailored to the student’s goals. We then work on new concepts through guided practice and end with a short reflection or activity that helps reinforce what was learned.
What sets me apart is my emphasis on authentic communication. Rather than memorization, I help students think and speak in Spanish naturally, using methods that adapt to their learning style and pace. My lessons are ideal for high school and college students, beginners wanting to build a strong foundation, or intermediate learners seeking to improve fluency and cultural understanding.
