About Marina
Hello! My name is Marina and I am a pedagogy student although I am also training as a dancer and singer. I am a graduate of the International Baccalaureate and the Dual Diploma in the US and Spain. I am bilingual in English and have a British accent (yes, like on the BBC: P). As for mathematics, I have completed the IB Higher Level. Last year I received the full ASSIST scholarship, which allowed me to study for free at the most prestigious institute in the United States, Phillips Exeter Academy (NH), for a year. This experience has also opened my eyes to different teaching and learning methods. I have 2 years of experience teaching in a rural area of Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. There I have taught people with learning difficulties, given the academic, economic and social circumstances. I am very used to starting from scratch with my students. I've also been offering online and face-to-face private classes for a year. I'd love to help you!

Normally my classes are structured around the particular needs of the student. If there are doubts about the content, I will help you solve them; If you already have clear concepts, we will try to increase agility or even expand content. Beyond everything, what I really offer is my vocation to teach and learn along with my students. It is my priority that my students UNDERSTAND and know how to apply what they have learned. This, in my experience, and in contrast to our education system, is a much more effective way of learning. The student not only limits him/herself to memorising, but also learns to interpret, analyse and think based on his observations, which means that he learns to use his knowledge in relation to its real application and these thought patterns remain in his/her long term memory.
