About Wa
I am a native Mandarin speaker from China with a PhD from Peking University and extensive experience in higher education, research, and international collaboration. I am passionate about language learning and enjoy helping students build confidence through clear communication and personalized support.
Having lived and worked in different countries, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a different culture. My goal is to create a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your goals, interests, and current language level. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for the HSK exam, learning Chinese for work, travel, or personal interest, I will create a personalised learning plan to help you progress with confidence.
My lessons are interactive, practical, and focused on real-life communication. I combine speaking, listening, reading, and writing with cultural insights to make learning engaging and meaningful. Depending on your needs, lessons may include conversation practice, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary building, role-play, or business and academic Chinese.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, with clear learning objectives, interactive activities, and personalised feedback. I also provide suggestions for self-study so you can continue improving between lessons.
As a native Mandarin speaker with a PhD from Peking University and international teaching and research experience, I enjoy helping learners of all ages and backgrounds achieve their language goals in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
