About Romy
I am a professional piano tutor with 8 years of experience and a successful record of teaching around 300 students. My learners include high school students, college learners, and adults who want to develop technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence.
My teaching philosophy balances structured instruction with creativity and encouragement. I focus on building a solid technical foundation through scales, chord exercises, finger training, rhythm practice, and sight-reading. I also emphasise musicality, phrasing, and expressive interpretation to help students convey emotion through their playing.
Each lesson is carefully planned with technical exercises, theory application, repertoire practice, and performance preparation. I adapt my teaching style to suit individual goals, whether students are preparing for graded exams, recitals, or learning for personal enjoyment.
Many students have achieved excellent results in examinations and performed confidently in public. I am committed to guiding each student with patience, structure, and motivation to unlock their full potential and foster a lifelong love of piano.

My piano teaching methodology is grounded in Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I begin by understanding how each student processes information and what motivates them. Some students benefit from visual explanations and written notation, while others learn best through listening and repetition.
I adjust my instruction to match these preferences. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, finger control, scale practice, rhythm stability, and expressive phrasing. Lessons are carefully structured but flexible enough to adapt to each student’s progress.
I break down difficult passages into small, clear steps to make learning manageable. Collaboration is encouraged through shared goal setting and choosing repertoire that aligns with the student’s interests. I create a supportive and positive atmosphere where students feel confident to grow. In addition to piano, I teach music theory, ear training, harmony, and sight-reading to develop complete and confident musicians.
