About Massimiliano

First, I need to understand the objectives of students and the resources (namely time and money) they can dedicate to learning a new language, then I tailor the course to their needs. Learning a language takes persistence, regularity, passion and devotion. However, if all you want is to be able to carry on simple conversations in a new language, then I adopt a simpler approach based on a lot of conversation and some fundamental grammar. I your desire is to reach a high level of proficiency both in written and oral skills, then the study of grammar becomes much more important; of course, in this case you have to be willing to invest time on a consistent almost day-by-day basis, both with an instructor and on your own (several exercises that can help you: reading, watching movies, reading out loud and recording to improve your pronunciation, chatting, practicing with friends etc.).

About the lesson

I lived in Italy until the age of 13 and then moved to Canada where I got my High School diploma with science electives and attended the faculty of engineering at UofT (Toronto). That allowed me to become proficiently bilingual; my accent is Canadian English. I also worked part-time as a translator and interpreter during the latter part of my 14 year period in Canada, then I moved back to Italy and that eventually became my main profession. My experiences in using English are in the field of engineering (aeronautical and civil), business relations, real estate, and some in the legal field as well. Other work related experiences: I started and ran an IT business for several years, specialized in online selling, small network management, technical support; worked as a real estate agent for 9 years. Personal likes: windsurfing, flying, animals, nature, vegan food and cooking, travelling, do-it-yourself/bricolage. And of course, priority will be given to your hobbies and interests during our conversations.

Cancellation policy, if cancelled later than 4 hours before the start of the lesson, 50% charge for online tuition, 75% for in person.
