About John
I was born in Lima, Peru and came to the United States when I was 6 years old. My mother’s family taught me Spanish growing up. I also have 7 years of real Spanish speaking grammar education through 4 years of high school+3 years in college.
Currently, I work full time as a Front Desk Agent at the InterContinental in San Francisco where I speak Spanish with guests whom check-in with me from foreign countries. I also assist my colleagues in the hotel with translation when there is a tough language or accent barrier. Having patience for beginners is important when tutoring new speakers who do not have any prior experience.

I know how to explain Spanish phrases, verbs, and conjunctions. Begging with 10-20 basic verbs (to cook, clean, have a drink, to take the bus etc.) There are certain everyday verbs one must know when traveling or working with native Spanish speakers. My first lesson would be like teaching a 1st Grader the English language, but in Spanish.
When teaching someone Spanish who is only a beginner, it is important the individual understands how to speak using correct grammar. The most difficult aspect of learning Spanish for me was conjugation of the past, present, and future tense. Some verbs can end in “ar, er, or ir” and depending on who you are addressing the spelling/pronunciation will be different.
